Injectables and Medication Delivery

Medication delivery allows you to receive prescriptions and other store essentials directly at your home through online pharmacy services like Express Scripts, CVS, Walmart, Amazon Pharmacy, and Walgreens. You can sign up for these services, have your doctor send an electronic prescription, or request a refill through the service’s website or app. You can then select your preferred delivery option, such as same-day or mail-order, and pay for the order to have your medications shipped to you.

How to Start:

  • Find a Pharmacy: Choose a participating pharmacy or online service, such as:
  • Express Scripts
  • CVS Health
  • Walmart
  • Amazon Pharmacy
  • Walgreens
  • United Healthcare offers services through Optum Home Delivery Pharmacy.
  • Wegmans also provides online ordering.

Get Your Prescription: Your prescriber can electronically send a new or existing prescription to the pharmacy.

Request Your Medication:

  • Use a pharmacy account: Log in to your account on the pharmacy’s website or app to request refills or new prescriptions.
  • Use the app: Use the pharmacy’s app to scan a prescription barcode or select delivery preferences for refills.
  • Contact the pharmacy: You can also call the pharmacy to initiate your delivery.
  • Choose Delivery Options: At checkout, select your preferred delivery method, such as:
  • Same-day delivery
  • 1-2 day delivery
  • Mail order for longer-term supplies (e.g., 90-day supply).
  • Confirm and Pay: Review your order, confirm the details, and submit your payment using a credit, debit, FSA, or HSA card to have the medication delivered.

Benefits:

  • Convenience: Avoid trips to the pharmacy, especially when you are busy or unwell.
  • Safety: Many services provide professionally packaged medications and offer access to pharmacists for consultations.
